In May 2025, S, a middle-aged man with cognitive difficulties, was hit by a vehicle in Mayur Vihar. The person who caused the accident took him for basic first aid. But S had lost four of his front teeth—injuries far more serious than what first aid could address.
Since then, it was his 74-year-old mother who tried to follow up with the person responsible.
She was already the sole caregiver to S, as well as to her blind husband. For months, she pursued the matter—softly, patiently—but nothing moved. She couldn’t afford the dental treatment, and S continued living with pain and visible damage to his face.
At the end of August, they came to Neev Foundation, hoping we could help resolve the issue without the stress and delay of a legal battle.
We reached out to the other party. After some back-and-forth, and consistent communication, an agreement was signed on 8th September 2025. The person who caused the accident has agreed to pay ₹30,000—the exact amount needed for S’s dental reconstruction.
For the first time since the accident, S will finally be able to begin proper treatment.
Had they gone the legal route, the process could have taken years—and there was no guarantee that any compensation would come. Instead, through dialogue and timely intervention, the family got a concrete outcome, on their terms.
At Neev Foundation, we believe justice doesn’t always have to wait for a courtroom.
Sometimes, it’s about resolution. Dignity. Relief.
And the courage of a mother who refused to give up.
